Why We Built a Multi-Practice Company
A software consultancy, a venture studio, a fashion studio, real estate and strategic investments. When people hear everything Siir & Rui Ventures does, the usual reaction is: that's a lot. Fashion, especially, tends to raise an eyebrow.
The short answer is that it's simply everything we do, brought under one umbrella. Each practice comes from something we care about, and either know well or are determined to learn. Keeping them together also makes the business simpler to run, legally and financially.
Where It Started
We started with what we know best. Both of us have worked in finance since the beginning of our careers, building systems for the industry for many years. That gave us a deep understanding of the domain, and something just as valuable: we know how to build for this clientele. We know how to speak with them, and how they expect work to be delivered, with quality and at speed.
So we wanted to be specific about the value we add: fintech and AI. That's where the company began.
The Five Practices
From there, each new practice grew out of something we were already doing, or wanted to learn to do well.
Software Consultancy. This is where the company began, and it's our fintech and AI expertise offered to clients. We build full systems, from the database and backend services to the UI, working closely with the people who will use them, whether that's traders, portfolio managers or operations teams. Our services cover the whole journey, from a first conversation and a clear plan to building, evolving and supporting what we've built. Finance is our home ground and where we do our best work, but we're happy to build outside it too.
Venture Studio. We're engineers who have always built things out of curiosity, from hackathons to side projects at home. The studio is where we experiment and build in public, focused on needs we've seen across the finance industry, never anything proprietary to the companies we've worked with. It builds in two ways: in-house apps that we design, launch and run ourselves, and co-created ventures with founders and partners. It starts from a shared interest or idea, and either side can bring the idea or the domain knowledge, while we lead the product and engineering. Sometimes we have the idea and want to build it with the right partner. Ownership is shared, and so is the commitment. If you'd like to build something together, we'd love to hear from you.
Fashion Studio. Fashion comes from Siir's creative side. Its first venture is Elara, a side project started in January 2026, with the first capsule collection planned for Spring/Summer 2027. Siir designs and sets the direction, working with expert makers in Portugal. A consultancy for fashion labels will follow later.
Real Estate. We have always liked to invest, and Portugal's housing market offers a real opportunity. We also have local contacts who are deeply involved in real estate, and investing in their projects is something we're happy and honoured to do. Like fashion, it takes a share of our time, and it's a long-term commitment: projects take years to come together, and we're happy to be patient.
Strategic Investments & R&D. This one comes from our curiosity. Europe has opportunities in many areas, and we want to make sure we don't miss them. We keep an eye out for ventures and investments that align with our experience and expertise, above all in technology.

One standard. Over the years we've built our own way of working: how we think, how we approach problems and opportunities, how we build, assess and decide, how we discuss, lead and set a vision. It's simply us, and it comes with us into every practice.

Insight matters most in what we build, at the consultancy and the Venture Studio, and in our real estate decisions too. Curiosity drives the Venture Studio, fashion and R&D. Creativity shows up most in fashion and the Venture Studio, in real estate, and at the consultancy when we build something new, always starting from the client's vision.
What's Next
Growing the Software Consultancy is our main goal this year. We're currently working with a wonderful client on an AI transformation, and we're actively looking for the next ones.
In the Venture Studio, a few new in-house apps are in progress, and we're open to co-creating with founders and partners. In real estate, several investments in northern Portugal, around Porto, are already under way and will be announced soon, and we're in talks on more.
